Manuel Alves at Moda Lisboa

Manuel Alves at ModaLisboa - Capital: Between Reflection and Craftsmanship
At the most recent ModaLisboa - Capital, Manuel Alves had the honour of being present alongside two great names in Portuguese fashion: Constança Entrudo and Valentim Quaresma. Each presented a distinct vision of fashion, joining the brand in a celebration of creativity and innovation.
Constança Entrudo and the Beauty of Second Place
Constança Entrudo’s FW25/26 collection, titled SECOND BEST , brought a profound reflection on society’s obsession with winners and losers, highlighting the beauty and resilience of second place. Inspired by the 1980s Olympic Games, the collection explores the deconstruction of meritocracy through unexpected textures and materials.
Manuel Alves, renowned for the quality and innovation of its footwear, aligned itself perfectly with this vision, bringing a sensorial and emotional element that complements the collection's textile experience, but also with the reuse of production leftovers in the making of the shoes. The textile installation developed for the occasion together with the leftover materials from the footwear, provided an immersion into the universe of SECOND BEST , where "second quality" materials were elevated to the protagonists. With silver details, velvety knits and hand-pleated taffetas, the collection celebrated the creative process and the effort inherent in each piece.
Valentim Quaresma and the Art of Crafts
On the other hand, Valentim Quaresma brought to this edition a meticulous approach to craftsmanship and materiality, adding layers of symbolism and emotion to his creations. His collection stood out for its respect for detail, time and raw materials, giving each piece an intricate character full of meaning.
His work transcended the physical product, creating a universe where the handcrafted object becomes almost utopian. This appreciation of detail and the time invested in each creation reflects a work culture that simultaneously extols tradition and innovation.
Manuel Alves: A Sensory Experience in Fashion
For Manuel Alves, participating in this edition was a celebration of the interdependence between fashion, design and sensory experiences. The brand is proud to have been alongside Constança Entrudo and Valentim Quaresma on this journey, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the appreciation of the creative process.
